Backstory
Fighting My Demons | 2005
Fighting My Demons” captures the struggle against belief systems that shaped my young, impressionable mind. Spending three years in the conservative environment of Louisiana at Jimmy Swaggart’s Pentecostal school and church, I faced deep conflict between imposed doctrines and my emerging identity. Though the demons of self-doubt, fear, and unworthiness were created for me, they are the ones I’ve had to fight. Scars remain, but so does gratitude for the freedom gained.
