I never thought that Sister & Brother would be my final commission as a painter, but I'm glad it ended on a high note. Growing up with three sisters in a close family gave me a deep understanding of the bond that siblings share. With this painting of a brother and sister, I aimed to capture that essence.

Corine, whom I affectionately called 'Dushi', was a long-time friend. She came into my life when I was hiding from the world and dealing with unspoken struggles. She was my neighbour at the time, introduced herself, and opened the proverbial door into my heart and life.

These paintings, one of my husband and the other a self-portrait, were my last attempts to visualize the space between thoughts before retiring my paintbrushes, exploring the mind's transition between inward and outward focus…
